Good Ol' Plastic Wrap

When your tattoo is completed, and you get it wrapped the Good Ol' Plastic Wrap way, here's what you need to know:

  1. Take the wrap off when you get home OR 1 hour after getting it wrapped.
  2. Once the tattoo is unwrapped, give it a nice clean with some Dial Gold soap. You can get this at Walmart for fairly cheap.
  3. After cleaning it with the soap, you're going to need to put some Aquaphor on the tattooed area. Then you're going to rub it in like you would lotion. A good rule of thumb is if the tattoo is still shining within 10-15 minutes after Aquaphor application, you put too much on. Get a damp paper towel and clean the Aquaphor off, and apply a smaller coat.
  4. You're going to do that process about 4-5 times a day.
  5. After about a week, you can switch to your regular body wash and lotion you normally use!

⁜ As always, if you have any questions- please do not hesitate to get in contact with either the Shop, or your Artist. We are always more than happy to help!

Recovery DermShield

Barring the very rare client with an allergy to medical grade adhesive used in tattoo aftercare products, after your tattoo your artist will apply Recovery DermShield to your brand new tattoo. This product is similar to many others that you may be familiar with, such as Saniderm, Tegaderm, Tatuderm, etc. although in our experience DermShield is a superior product.

How do I care for my tattoo?
When using DermShield, aftercare is super easy! You don't have to worry about applying ointment or washing your tattoo several times a day. Just leave the thing alone. Showering is fine, but like any other fresh tattoo, you will need to avoid soaking (such as in a bath, pool, hot tub, etc.) for the duration of time that the DermShield is applied. You may remove the covering 7 days after the tattoo procedure.
